The City states that its tenant-protection ordinance covers residential rental units and requires specified just cause and notice procedures. Its current FAQ also describes local relocation assistance for qualifying no-fault terminations. Coverage and amounts should be verified directly with the City and counsel for the specific case. Cudahy also sets its own maximum allowable rent increase for covered units through its Rent Stabilization Ordinance. Because Cudahy has a local ordinance, that local figure governs covered units instead of the statewide Tenant Protection Act percentage. A local cap doesn't stack on top of the state cap, it replaces it for the units it covers. The City's Rent Stabilization page publishes the current maximum allowable increase; confirm it there before calculating a rent increase, since local caps reset and change.
